Lent begins February 14th, Valentines Day.
A day when the people of St. Leo’s opens their hearts in support of those who need our help.
Each year the parish participates with the Knights of Columbus and Social Justice Committee in a project known as:
40 Cans for Lent. Here are some of the great things we did as a parish community in 2017:
1. Collected over 3500 pounds of food and $1000 in cash donations:
a. Supported (2) “Stuff a Bus” events collecting 600 pounds of food,
c. Special Pasta and Sauce Donation 400 pounds,
d. Bread and sweets donations 600 pounds,
Your Food Donations stay right in Hilton going to our food cupboard and the Village Food Shelf.
Your cash donations go to the Social Justice Activities which supported many activities which included but are not limited to:
• St. Leo’s Food Pantry
• Parma Food Shelf
• Bethany House
• Dimitri House
• Sojourner House
• We provided 25 families dinners for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
