St Leo’s has a very vibrant Music Ministry program and is always looking for more members. The following information is a list of the types of music groups found at St. Leo’s:
Children’s Praise Choir consists of children ages 4-12. This group is directed by Patty Gorman, along with invaluable help from a few selected teens. The rehearsals are 6:45-7:30 p.m. on Mondays. The children usually sing once per month at the 9:30 a.m. Mass, Christmas Eve, and Easter Sunday. After Easter, this group takes a break until the Fall.
The Jr. Handbell Choir consists of children in grades 4-8. This group is directed by MaryAnn Hubbell. They rehearse 6-6:55 p.m. on Mondays. This group rings bells once per month at the 9:30 a.m. Mass, Christmas Eve, and Easter Sunday. After Easter, this group takes a break until the Fall.
The Sr. Handbell Choir, consisting of adults, is directed by Heather Hubbell. They rehearse 7-8 p.m. on Wednesdays. This group rings bells once per month at the 9:30 a.m. Mass, Christmas Eve, and Easter Vigil.
The Festive Choir consists of Teens and Adults and is directed by Patty Gorman. They rehearse 7:30-8:30 p.m. on Mondays. They sing 3 out of 4 Sundays per month at 9:30 a.m., Christmas Eve, some Holy Days, the Triduum, and Easter.
The Life-Teen Band, rehearses every other Monday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. They sing at the 6 p.m. (or 7:00 p.m. July and August) Mass on Sunday.
The Resurrection Choir is directed by Patty Gorman. They sing at funerals and rehearse 1/2 hr. prior to each funeral.
